Visa

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires U.S. employers to affirm, for certain types of visa applications, that they have reviewed the export control regulations to determine if an export license is required from either the Department of Commerce (DOC) or the Department of State (DOS) to release technology or technical data to the visa applicant. If a license is required, the U.S. employer must certify that the visa applicant will not access such technology or data until the license has been obtained.

The Office of Trade Compliance (OTC) works with the Office of International Services to ensure compliance with U. S. Export Regulations by performing deemed export reviews of Part 6 of the I-129 visa application.  OTC has developed an electronic process for these deemed export reviews through an application called MyEC.

Users with pitt.edu email address can access the MyEC system using their Pitt login credentials. Those users with upmc.edu email accounts must first obtain a Pitt sponsored account by contacting Pitt-IT. A user’s guide is available. If you require further assistance after the review of this information, please contact OTC
